REAL TALK: Plastic

 Even recycled plastic used in textiles is detrimental to the environment -- microfibers from laundering clothing have shown to be the biggest plastic pollutant in the oceans! Terrible for marine life and all marine ecosystems. An invisible nightmare!! So while there is no immediate solution on the textile front (textiles use a surprising amount of plastic) it's important to know this fact and that the fashion industry should be much more supportive of sciences working to find plastic alternatives for textiles, along with producing plastics that aren't harmful to us or the environment. Mark Browne from BenignByDesign is on the forefront of this research.
